Cookie Policy
Most cookie policies describe a long list of tracking and advertising cookies. This one is short, because it's accurate: this site does not set any advertising or analytics cookies, and does not load third-party tracking scripts by default.
1. What this site actually stores in your browser
- Cookie-consent preference (browser local storage, not a cookie): remembers that you've seen and dismissed the cookie notice, so it doesn't reappear on every page. Expires when you clear your browser's site data.
That's the complete list as of this build. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party embeds that set their own cookies.
2. If an account is added (future functionality)
A real account system would need session cookies or tokens to keep you signed in securely. TODO: verify — when authentication is implemented, document the specific session mechanism here (cookie name, purpose, duration, and whether it's marked Secure/HttpOnly/SameSite) before launch.
3. If analytics or marketing tools are added later
Should we ever add analytics or marketing cookies, this policy and the cookie notice banner would be updated first, and, for UK/EU visitors under UK GDPR and PECR, genuine prior consent would be required before any non-essential cookie is set, not just a notice. TODO: verify — if/when this changes, this entire page needs rewriting by someone who can see the actual implementation, not just this template.
4. Controlling cookies and local storage yourself
Every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies and local storage through its settings. Since this site currently sets nothing beyond the one preference described above, there's little to manage, but you're welcome to clear it at any time, which will simply bring the cookie notice back.
